Hi guys!
I had my first day at BIMM yesterday and thought I should write a blog post telling you all about it :) We started off the day with all the first years attending an introduction event at the Theatre Royal. It was absolutely packed and got hot very quickly! There were 3 bands that played and we had guest speakers, which included BIMM Brighton Alumni and Ryan Lofthouse from Closer Artists Management and Publishing. Really interesting things were said so very grateful for them taking their time to come down to the event. We also got to hear from the Principal and the other course leaders. My first lesson wasn't later on till 3 and was Pre-Production. For those of you who don't know what this is, its the preparation you do for before you go into the studio so once you're in there, you don't waste studio time and money trying to figure out how the song will sound! All you have to do, is record it. After doing a "Speed Dating" type of activity, we had to play a verse and a chorus of one of our own songs. I played a song of mine called 'Honest' (which I hope to record at some point!) and the reaction seemed positive overall :) I have a day off today but I'm back tomorrow for a lesson at 1:30. Can't wait to see what else the course has to offer! And I will make sure to keep you guys in the loop! ;) Love and smiles, Amelia xx
